Happy 2019! Gone is another year. I decided to not drone on about the importance of intentions or how to craft the perfect resolution. You surely have your own opinions about that ritual and have chosen to act accordingly.
I for one like a good old-fashioned resolution and happily stick to it as long as I can….until I’m bored with it. (Tee Hee) Perhaps I’ll last a month, maybe two, and sometimes the whole year. I find resolutions to be a fun challenge and I never allow them to become a chore. An advanced Yoga pose such as Vrischikasana/Scorpion pose or Mayurasana/Peacock pose is not in the cards for 2019, as I’m still nursing my shoulder injury.
This year, I’ve made a resolution that I think to be rather simple, effective and will make me feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Since I live just a couple of blocks from Coogee Beach, I’ve decided to get in the water at least once a week. This doesn’t mean I have to swim the length of the beach 10 times when there’s a high surf advisory, nor do I have to take a freezing dip in the rock pool in the middle of winter. It simply means, that at a bare minimum, I need to get my toes wet once a week. A stroll along the sand with my trousers rolled up is something I can do any time of the day, any time of the week. My new year’s resolution is free and I can do it alone for some me-time, or have a chat with a friend as we set the world to rights with the sand between our toes.
There you have it. Short, simple and satisfying.
